Maybe it's because he was moms favorite & I teased her about him growing up. I miss mom from 1991. The brightest star in the sky is her.
That's fair. I'm a country radio programmer who loves rock n roll.... but honestly I love any music that I think is done well or moves me.

Love Willie... and sorry about your mom.
Thanks for giving the vid a chance.
I'm like you, I like good music. Growing up most in my small hick town liked country and that's all I heard. Then 'Appitite' came out and I have never been the same so I blame Rock N Roll for my sex & drugs alcohol life lol.
I was raised and addopted by my grandparentsl. They were good people & small town heros I miss them, of course I would. I think my dad would be proud of me today but for a long time I could never live up to the man he was.

Love me some Johny Cash
It's all I heard (country) growing up in small town Kansas too. But I don't mind because I learned to love and appreciate it for the beauty it has in it's pure form. Then like you I moved on to rock n roll but I've never lost my country roots.
I don't know you but I'm sure your dad would be proud.
Johnny Cash was sensationalized fairly recent and yes there was a little cult following, etc etc... But he earned all of the 'in style thing to do' popularity from that six years ago.
He was the real deal and not acknowledged as much by my father, earlier on. I had a Johnny Cash greatist hits cassette I used to make him listen to when we'd drive from Blue Springs to Carthage to visit his mom.
Dad didn't like Hank Jr or Johnny Cash - but did like Willie Nelson and Merle and a few others, Charlie Pride. Ugghhh - Nelson was dope though.
I'm really about to crash so sorry if that made no sense [Reply]
