In the baseball draft it is ridiculous to not go best player available. It is too hard to project who will be good, let alone when they will be ready. [Reply]

Teams evaluate that so different is the issue. Some teams prefer high floors so guess make the majors, others take gambles with upside..
For example when the Royals went back to back followed by the Cubs both those teams were built by using high picks on hitters.
Most everyone is going to agree high level hitters pan out at a much higher rate than pitchers do. The current Royals rebuild being built in pitchers is a scary thing...it's super risky. [Reply]

I watched it live. Pillar's face looks like he just got done with a UFC fight. They actually brought out stuff to cover the blood in the dirt like they do in basketball, never seen that in baseball. [Reply]
Scary scene in Atlanta. The Mets’ Kevin Pillar took a pitch to the face. He walked off the field. So that’s good. But, man, that was tough. They’ve actually paused the game to clean up the blood. pic.twitter.com/qn6enR8j7t

I remember a while back watching a Rays pitcher get hit by a line drive off the bat from a Royal. I thought the dude was dead. [Reply]
