2018 was probably his peak. Max games he's played in a single season is 102. His power numbers and OPS has actually been on the way south since 2018. So, to say he's been much better, that's debatable. Hey, he's got potential, we've all seen that. He just has no longevity or the ability to remain healthy. If you can't get on the field, you're not contributing to the success of the organization.

As long as they don't screw around for 30 years trying to get back to the next one.... [Reply]

He was in the minors for parts of his first 4 seasons. Last year was his first season on the Royals for the whole year, and he played 59 out of 60 games. [Reply]

To be fair those guys were top 3 picks they had very long ropes for that reason. [Reply]

To be fair, a top 3 pick and a guy you spend $2M to sign out of Latin America are basically the same thing. You have enormous investments in them.
Mondesi is still young and still has enormous potential. I’d like to see what he can do in a lineup with guys like Benintendi and Santana around him, and also if he can stay healthier playing CF instead of SS. [Reply]

He was about as highly regarded as it is possible to be.
And the kid has been hurt more than he has played..... [Reply]

Which is again why he has a long rope also. He'll the Royals give long rope to nobodies so of course legit prospects get them.
Moore is very guilty of falling in love with his prospects and overvaluing them. [Reply]
I think Davis should be off the team. Holland has some use. Definitely would have preferred Holland - Staumont yesterday and Barlow the last two innings today. [Reply]
