We're seeing an uptick in people randomly throwing out political bullshit in threads in the Lounge. Don't. Report people who do. They'll get booted from the thread for a first offense and more than that if they continue.
The end.

Due to continued reported posts and general frustrations around inserting politics into absolutely everything, and idea came up to restrict people to DC, much like the Romper Room.
So, everyone gets three thread bans as warnings, and after that will get a vacation in DC (the other forums will be view only). The thread bans and DC vacations will be posted in the transparency thread.
Just like several other rules, there's of course gray area and it doesn't really matter where the line is drawn, because those who can keep politics out of the Lounge will never come close to the line and those who can't will insist on running right up to it.
Generally speaking, we're talking about political opinions or blatantly inserting politics into a thread that isn't even a little bit on topic, or otherwise leaking DC BS into the Lounge or other forums.

Both are guilty of engaging in the confrontation but the instigators are predominately Trump supporters. Just look at today's contributions to this thread. It's predominately Trump supporters pissed off that they can't bring their politics into the Lounge and belittling anyone who disagrees.
The Kaepernick thread is exempt from this analysis. As are the kneeling ones. Those never stood a chance and should have been moved to DC immediately.
Mods are partly responsible because they allow clearly political topics, sports related or not, to stay in the lounge. End result = Politics in the lounge.

There's a forum for that here.
Well, we will have to agree to disagree. I tend not to post in DC because its frustrating to have an opinion that gets dumped on just because I lean further one way than the other. But when I see posts like this is really does irritate me. To say its all one side is not a fair assessment at all.

Oh horseshit. It was the Trump OPPONENTS who injected politics into the subjects discussed here. Trump supporters aren't kneeling on the sidelines, ranting about how much they hate America when they should be celebrating victory, whining about an ancient flag, or presenting false and altered narratives in the media in an attempt to wreck the team and any chance we have of winning the Super Bowl. Was anybody talking about politics in relation to football in the main forum BEFORE these things happened? NO.
Your thought masters are the ones who are lighting the fires. And now we're supposed to pretend that the house isn't burning? Give me a fucking break. The same people who are pissing and moaning about politics in the Lounge prop up the assholes who brought it here in the first place. If you're looking for someone to blame, check the nearest mirror.

There has been a rise in political comments in non political threads in the lounge that get swerved. 99% of these political comments inside a thread in the lounge are started from Trump supporters trying to get a rise out of the woke, virtue signaling snowflakes. And then the other side takes the bait. And we have politics in the lounge, in threads that are in no way political.
