Just got home after the ice tub mission. Incredible start so far. I was looking at all the details and reading everything I could. I can see how it all could have easily been completed in probably an hour? I'm at like 2 hours and 45 minutes played. :-)

Thank god for DLSS. I'm running at 1440 with all Ray Tracing on and almost everything set to high/ultra (cascading shadows set to Medium per the Internet). This game is fucking GOR-GEOUS. Watching video reviews never does playing the actual game justice and the effect is like 10-fold here.

I'm probably going to end up dropping the settings to get more FPS, though.

I was getting probably like 50-55 FPS everywhere but Lizzy's, where it was like 35-40 FPS. I can't even imagine what's going to happen when I step out into the city proper.

The level of detail, the characters models, the dialog/writing are incredible so far. This game is clearly so much more than just the graphics, so whatever.

As far as bugs, I saw a fat person doing the T-pose and a couple of people smoking invisible cigarettes so far. Jackie also ran through a bunch of furniture in the ice tub mission causing a bunch of shit to fly around. Was kind of funny, actually. That's it so far, though.

Random (I think) NCPD side missions pop up all over the place. People getting mugged, stores being robbed, whole blocks taken over by gangs. A couple even spawned new side missions. I'm about 14 hours in now, and the last 10 have been running side missions and gigs around Watson. Not around the whole city. Just Watson. And I haven't even been everywhere in the area yet. It's insane.

At first, I kind of regretted getting my pre-order from Amazon because it delayed me playing the game by a day. But I saved $10 and got the soundtrack on 2 CDs, a physical map of NC, 3 postcards, 5 stickers, and a little quick guide booklet.

I'll probably never end up doing anything with any of it, but it's still pretty nice of CDPR to include all those things and makes me feel a little better about getting the game the way I did.

LOL, I thought the discs were a physical installer for the game. No idea that was the soundtrack. That's awesome. I really thought the "Digital" version would just be an email with a code. Had no clue it was still a physical box. It's pretty damn cool...

I've played like 7 hours and killed no one :-)

That changes SOON.

I'm going out to the desert to EXPLORE. AND MURDER.

I never fired a shot in the ice tub mission but I broke a lot of necks. Filthy scavs don't deserve to live.

So is it true this is basically unplayable on the older consoles?

I think keg is playing it on his PS4 and he seems to be enjoying it quite a bit.

The fps will fluctuate from 20-30 fps and the data streaming from the hdd's is slow. If you're ok with that, then you should have a fun time. If this is the only game on your radar, then go for it, but there's so many games to play... Just do something else until PS5 stock has settled.

I'm on ps4. I crashed twice at the very end of my first night playing, about 6 hours in, right when I reached Night City itself for the first time (this isn't a spoiler - it probably won't take many people that long; I explored every inch of the badlands starting area that I could find). I haven't had any problems since then.

I did turn off chromatic aberration, film grain and motion blur before even beginning to play, which may or may not impact my performance. But I would do that on any game.

Game performance has been fine. Some occasional (pretty rare) graphics tearing, but no stuttering or issues with frame rate and/or stability.

I expected a buggy mess after hearing about review performance and then day zero players, but it just hasn't been to this point (knock on wood).

Nice rims, playa.

That looks like someone gave GTA V an injection of graphics steroids.
