I’ve seen a few of you compare this to our 2012 or 2013 teams which were young and lost early before it clicked.
I’d push back on that. Our lineup is old. 3rd oldest in MLB. The only good young player is on the DL. There is no real elite help at AAA that we will see in the next year or two. [Reply]

I think the young talent is centered on pitching in this incarnation of the Royals. In 2012-2013 our long-term success hinged on the success of our young hitters (Hosmer, Salvy, Cain, Moose, etc). We THOUGHT it hinged on our pitchers, too, but outside of Duffy and Yo, we had to rely on veterans to fill the gaps (wasn't our rotation in 2015 by far the oldest in the playoffs?)
In this incarnation of the team, it will be made or broken by the success of Lynch, Singer, Lacy, Bubic, Staumont, etc, with a mix of young bats (Witt, Mondi, Isbel) and veterans boosting the offense. [Reply]

I agree. But numerically it’s easier to fill a couple rotation spots than it is your lineup. [Reply]
Wish could zoom in better but you can squint for a glimpse at better days ahead for Royals fans as Mondesi and Witt Jr play together for first time in a game that counts here at Northwest Arkansas ... pic.twitter.com/HN35SxtOcO
But what if they hit a baseball at Mondesi? He's going to get injured. What do you want him to do, dive for it? That would be season ender right there. [Reply]
