Nzoner's Game Room>The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

ahhh...
finally got 'er. that bike smells like a hot rod after shutting her down. and runs like it too. felt the rear dancing around while throttling hard through a sweeper turn. entered it around 20mph then goosed it. as my buddy said of the motor "that bitch is straight". He's right.

still felt bad; he and his wife teared up a bit as i fired her up (the bike, not the wife) to take her home. But his wife said "don't feel too badly for him. I'm sure he'll be buying another within 6 months"lol. Wish I had tomorrow off - I'd just go ride all damn day.

Heading to bike night tonight, and having the bikini girls wash it for me, but I feel kind of bad for them, because it is so bad. It's actually two weeks worth of bugs cause I went to bikefest at the lake the weekend before. So there's multiple layers of bugs there...

Like the new bike by the way.
If you went both out of Eureka, you probably went by my house. Did you go through Cassville? Absolutely beautiful areas to ride down here. Anytime you guys are down here and want to ride, I'll show you around.

I went to Eureka Friday night, a lot of beautiful bikes. Love this time of year.

Yeah, I love it down there. I want to move down there, or get a "get away cabin" somewhere around Eureka. Not sure if I went through cassville. Took 23 north to 86 east to MO 39 I believe, could be 37, I know they're both down there, but we took that to I44. I can't believe we didn't get rained on. Just about every one else I've talked to got wet coming home. My response was, well you should have rode with me... Next time I get a trip planned down there, I'll hit you up, and let you show me the local secrets.

Going that way, you didn't go through Cassville. Went through Golden, to Carr Lane, to Shell Knob, etc. Very nice ride that way. I like to take the "loop" when I don't a lot of time for a ride.

Yeah, hit me up when you get down here and I'll show you around.

We did the big ones when we were down there. We hit the Pig Trail, devil's den, ran to war eagle mill... And my personal favorite, 62 between 71 and harrison. It get's real fun around Eureka.

We went and picked up my brothers first motorcycle today. The only weird thing about it is that someone replaced the stock bars with ones of an atv. 20,500miles for $3,400.

We went out and got him a helmet and a jacket. Now he has to learn how to ride the thing.

cool bike PR. It's different. that front cantilever is wicked looking.

Good idea on scoring the gear. Just show him pictures of my wreck in this thread, and let him know that was only at about 35mph. lol.

If you haven't ridden a Victory, you are going to fall in love. I've got a 2014 Cross Country and wouldn't trade it for anything. Very dependable, and balanced very well. Chances are, if you ride it you'll buy it. :-)

hard stops and figure eights will help with that.

if he's never ridden, taking a riding course is highly beneficial.

have fun!

I second this..taken a course is the best way to learn and they normally give really good tips on how to move with traffic and how to watch cars
