Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

To me this non-call is just as bad as the ref missing Kelce being tackled by his facemask. How in the hell do you miss the player with the ball being yanked to the ground head first because the defender has a handful of facemask? Anyway, I digress.
The rules state:
Defenseless Player
Rule 12 - Section 2 - Article 7:
It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
Players in a defenseless posture are: A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass (passing posture)
Use of the Helmet
Article 8:
It is a foul if a player lowers his head to initiate and make contact with his helmet against an opponent.

But he put his hands up afterwards, so it's all good. [Reply]
Relax, ladies. The league is about to drop a "no hit" insurance policy on Mahomes so large, that poor fuck from Baltimore will have to work two seasons to pay the fine off if he tries that shit again.

I believe that Mahomes will take a team-friendly deal. He is already rich, and I doubt money is his primary concern. The Chiefs may have lucked out and gotten a player with the same mentality as Tom Brady and not Peyton Manning. [Reply]

Hold the brakes on the Brady being great for accepting less. You are aware his supermodel wife makes sick money that would exceed his annual salary even if he was the highest QB in the league? Brady is a unique situation, he can afford to give away a dollar or two because, unlike everybody else, he is the second breadwinner in the house. [Reply]
We are going to pay Mahomes on his second contract. Its the 3rd deal where you might get a deal. He's going to want to make his money. But the kid is going to make a shit ton in endorsement deals. [Reply]
At any one point in time, there are 5 guys on the planet who can play NFL QB at an elite level. Some guys can only do it for a season or two, some guys for decades. Everyone else needs a perfect storm to succeed and win Superbowls.
It's great that we finally got one of those guys; it's mind blowing that we got THE guy, the once in a generation, re-defining the parameters of what can be done guy. It's going to be an amazing fifteen or so years. [Reply]

Just depends, PMII comes from a well off family who made their cash from his Father being a professional athlete.
Will it be break the bank mindset, or will it be the philosophy of making enough that'll ensure a comfortable lifestyle while not killing the cap that'll help the team to shop or pay other players. [Reply]

Comfortable lifestyle? For normal humans, that's like 300K a year...I'm guessing he'll be a tad higher than that... [Reply]
