Woof.
Another reason to pump the breaks. Nick Pratto was pwnig ST too and is hitting like .120 now in AA. Spring Training stats and hype DO NOT matter. Outside a handful of pitchers, they arent even trying. Just trying new pitches, getting stretched out and pumping easy to hit FBs [Reply]
Curious to see what people think of the 2018 draft. Did the Royals take the best college pitcher? We are getting to see some of what the high school arms look like.
If the 2018 was redrafted where would you put Singer, Lynch and Bubic?
Nick Madrigal is looking good and Mize is struggling. It will be interesting to see this draft in 5 years when the HS players get some big league time. [Reply]

I really want some of those starting pitchers to pan out,so they can draft better position players/hitters in the future.Just my 2 cents. [Reply]
We need a center fielder who can hit and throw to the correct base. A shortstop who isn't hurt for 2/3rds of the season. A first baseman who can dig balls out of the dirt. A DH that doesn't K twice a game. A third baseman. A real third baseman. Three more starting pitchers and a reliable closer.
Besides that, we're doing just fine.
I'm still pissed from last night. I need to be pissed for a few more days. [Reply]

Does a DH that doesn't K twice a game exist?
I disagree that they need 3 more starting pitchers. Duffy-Singer-Keller is a fine trio. Keller had a rough start to the year, but he'll be fine. I could definitely get on board with replacing Minor in the rotation and sending Junis packing. The starting pitching has actually been fairly decent, even during this losing streak. It's mostly the offense and the bullpen that have been blowing games.
I think Staumont is a reliable closer. He's been dominant the past couple of seasons. [Reply]

Royals starters are averaging 3 2/3rds innings a start...that is not fine. [Reply]

I'm not sure where you got that number. They're averaging about 4.5 IP per start during the losing streak, including the game where Lynch didn't even get through the 1st inning. Outside of that game, starters are averaging about 5-6 IP during the streak.
As I mentioned, Duffy-Singer-Keller will be fine. Obviously, when you have a shitty start where the rookie gives up 300 runs in the 1st inning, that's going to skew the stats a little. The starters have given up 3 ER or fewer in 6 of the 9 losses during the streak. [Reply]
