Figured we could get one of these going as well.

Who's some guys we like, would like to see in KC?

Yeah, I remember.
Yeah, he had a career day. Gonna count on that week in and week out?

A receiver that's never eclipsed 700 yards in a season and is more of a specialist than an every play target?

Option #2 is a talented guy, sure, but has a lengthy track record of being injury prone. Helluva gamble there.

Option 3 is Skyy Moore.

And you're convinced the Chiefs are going to be happy going into the season with that, huh? So much so that we shouldn't be discussing the subject?

I really think Elijah Moore might be an answer at WR. Jets have a ton of WR depth after signing Lazard and supposedly Rodgers wants them to sign Cobb as well. Moore was a high 2nd round pick and was very disgruntled last season. He's got a lot of talent and would be a nice addition imo.

One thing I will say is that if the Chiefs overpaid for JuJu, A LOT of people would be pointing at that and saying they clearly have no confidence in Skyy. I just find it kind of funny that nobody mentions the possibility that they really believe in him and Toney.

To be clear, I'm all for adding a WR through FA/trade AND the draft either way.

Why wouldn't he just be in the package going back to Green Bay?

Let's be really, crystal clear and not twist my words into anything I'm not really saying.

I seriously doubt that Veach is going to throw $20m at an over 30 WR, especially one that will require serious draft picks in trade, and super especially when either of the WR's you guys are salivating over have finished a season in at least two years.

That doesn't mean I think the WR room is set as of March 16. That doesn't mean I don't think we'll draft a guy. Doesn't mean I don't think we'll sign a guy.

I think we will sign at least one FA-although I doubt you're going to be satisfied if you're expecting a bonafide-no-doubt-number-one-WR type. And I expect somewhere in the first three rounds of the draft we'll take a WR as well.

And I'm sure we'll bring back JWat on a cheap deal as insurance, as he has a year in the offense.

There will be, at minimum, two new faces in that first 5 WR on the depth chart, I just about guarantee.

I seriously doubt it will be Hopkins or OBJ. There's absolutely nothing that Veach has said or done in the last 5 years to indicate that he'd pay that kind of money to often injured, over 30 players. There's a TON of evidence to the contrary.

And that's it. That's my whole opinion. And you guys can act like I'm shitting in your cheerios and ruining your fun, but it's not up to me. It's up to Veach, and my prediction is what my prediction is.

It's just not how he's been going about team building since the realities of Mahomes huge cap hit took hold.

Well, Veach is going to have to sign a WR, that's certain. And that guy better be at the least a top-32 WR.

Check it out:

Our WR room currently consists of MVS, Toney and Skyy. Can't count on the Ross' or Justin Watson, yet.

Those three accounted for less than 1,100 yards, 53 1st downs and just 4 TDs in 2022. that's right, most of the Chiefs yards, 1st downs and TDs came from the guys that aren't Chiefs anymore.

And rookie WRs don't really move the needle much in KC.

So that lost production has to come from a FA WR. Not saying it has to be DHop or OBJ, but the guy has to reliably move the chains and score TDs.

He's definitely one of those "we never saw it coming" Veach type of moves.

I mean that's fine, I just don't believe you can trust Toney to play 17 games.

What is "serious draft picks"

Hopkins will probably go for a 4 and maybe a conditional pick the next year...

I don't either, hence why I prefer to add a vet and a rookie. I want depth either way.

Beckham has already refuted the $20 million dollar number and so far we have no clue what it would take to get Hopkins.

Now you're just inviting the, "REID DOESN'T PLAY ROOKIES" crowd, and their favorite butt buddies the "ROOKIE WR's CAN'T PRODUCE IN REID's OFFENSE" guys.

Hopkins openly said he'd work with the new team to make the contract work.

If it's condescending to say that you're not considering the reality that no team had previously won a SB with a single player eating more than 13% of their cap before Mahomes just did it at 17%-and his number goes up to 23% this year so I don't expect a big money FA deal, then tough.

You're not. You're not realistically considering this reality.

The only way to do this would be to push more Mahomes money forward, thereby extending the time period in which we'll struggle with the cap. I find that unpalatable. I'd rather not spend most of his 30's in cap hell.

Dude was telling the world that this was the hardest season he's had, physically.

It's not getting any easier for him a year later, dudes.

We're one Kelce injury away from Mahomes not having shit to throw to. So yeah, forgive us for discussing potential options. Like a 2nd legitimate receiving option would just be so, so bad.

Totally don't need that. We should spend that money on a FB or a rotational DT or something.
This is why I think WR is on the table at 31 and should not be discounted at all as an option
