Again, as an unabashed D-Lo apologist from the moment we drafted him, I have to point out that he was NEVER seen as a dynamic on-ball defender. He's a physical defender who won't have to dive under screens and can't be bully balled because he's surprisingly strong for a guy built like him.

But he's not a premier athlete and never has been.

I think he's an average defensive player who gets there in a fairly unconventional way for a perimeter player. That will work - but it ain't gonna work real well against Morant.

There was no real reason to give him that space but you also don't want to just completely sag off him. Jackson didn't think he had 2 in a row in him.
