Player evaluation = projection.

If it was as simple as just looking at everyone’s previous 34 games, well, shit would be a lot easier and the NFL would look a lot different.

Taking a player in Mooney’s situation with plenty of context to parse through creates opportunity at the right price. It’s not any different than when they grabbed JuJu following some down years and revived his career. It can happen. It’s not guaranteed, but if you’re not turning these stones over that’s just bad management.

I’ve said from the go he’s a one year deal guy. Incentive packed. Who I would sign to be my #3 WR to be a multi-level winner (primarily intermediate) to go along with a burner deep ball threat selected in the top-64.

He’s not getting $10m+ guaranteed, no. Bad timing and bad market for him. So you come to Kansas City and try to be another redemption story to have another crack at a big pay day next year.

Who in that room had a 1000 yard season on their resume?

Does Skyy more run a sub 4.4?

Toney was a similar bet, in that there was clearly talent there, and if you could unlock it, you'd be geniuses.

didn't work out, but that kind of thinking is why KC didn't draft a first round QB for 40 fucking years.

At worst, Mooney can be a less expensive MVS.

At best, he returns to his first two years' form and you get a nice, productive #2 type receiver on a bargain.

If you're expecting some game changing free agent signee, the only way you're going to get it is a reclamation project. You're not getting a Ridley. You're not getting a Pittman. Forget it, it's not happening.

Nah but he often comments on Pat's IG and was instrumental in getting Pat to take part in the George Floyd video NFL players made back in the day.

Fields does not do well on guys that aren't his 1st read or bigger targets in the middle of the field that he can see easier.

Mooney will look far different playing with a Mahomes than a Fields.

Mahomes and Fields are not comparable QB's, sorry.

You might want to start watching film of Darnell Mooney or Curtis Samuel. https://t.co/rFJDXQ4eBR

Watson has been a great depth signing who you never mentioned. Toney was a lottery ticket we spent a 3rd on and while he’s not panned out he was key in helping win the 2022 SB.

The legitimate misses have been Moore and MVS.
Y'all can't have it both ways.

Historically in this offense, the 3rd option typically ends up with around 500 yards.

For some reason, THIS YEAR y'all decide that our WR room is trash, even though the 3rd option is right there around 500 yards.

My problem isn't with having the 3rd option being a 500-600 yard WR - my problem is wanting to pay them MVS money.

All those misses I listed above are understandable - they were all late round picks and or extremely inexpensive - aside from Sammy and MVS. You can afford to miss when you're spending nothing.

You can't just light money on fire like you did with MVS and would be doing with Mooney or Brown.

Exactly. So fuck this market. Literally what I've been saying.

Our WR room has never been good as a collective. Tyreek and prime Kelce covered it up.
How the hell were Watkins and MVS "misses" when both helped us to win superbowls? That's silly imo.

I think if you can get Samuel under 10 per year you should do it.

Assuming Mooney is healthy I will bet anyone here that Mooney will be considered the far better player than MVS if we sign him.

You can trust your "analytics" or just watch the Bears games I got stuck with a few times on my bets.

Relying on just rookie wideouts when only Rice has come through early under Andy would be utterly stupid.
