I love our pen. Our hitting has been disappointing. Im not sure about Dozier long term. I wasn't sold on Mondesi because of health issues and he already got hurt again. Whit is aging himself out of playing good defense. Soler is alot of fun but he feasts on medicre pitching in blow out games. Santana is a stud. Going to come down to how Dozier, Mondesi, Benintendi progress.
Soler was a major difference maker in our last two one-run games (homering against Tampa and the scorching double he had yesterday). [Reply]
The Royals probably aren’t going to win the central. And they probably won’t win a WC spot. But all we have to go off of from a “down to brass tacks” perspective (wins, Basil, wins) is the Royals have won 13 of their first 20 games. It sure as hell beats being 5-15 and already looking at the summer months as basically a lost cause. This is a developing team that isn’t “supposed” to do much of anything this year. If they can keep baseball in Kansas City relevant until football season starts, that’s a huge win and a successful year in my book. [Reply]

Your act is tired. Bet against the home team and declare victory when they don’t bring home the title, which was always a 3% chance. Or the division which is 10% chance.
Being a contrarian only works when you’re going against conventional wisdom. [Reply]

Ugh, I can't take that bet either.
The Sox are good and the Twins aren't this bad.
Hopefully the boys in blue catch fire though and stay consistent. That's the great thing about baseball, rosters that weren't supposed to be good can make runs, unlike the NFL. [Reply]
The White Sox definitely feel like the sleeping giant in the division - but they’ve felt like that for a bit now. Underperforming in surprisingly creative ways has kind of been in the Sox nature since 1919 (2005 being the exception - but it’s often forgotten by major networks for being the most boring WS anyway).
If I had to guess, I think the Sox just have too much talent this year. But - I also thought Matheny was a terrible choice and did not think the Royals would be 13-7 at this point - so what do I know? [Reply]
