Media Center>Game of Thrones Seasons 7-8
keg in kc 02:23 PM 05-24-2017
About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.

I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...

For future us, 2015 thread is here: Link

No concentration of forces to let a dragon be a force multiplier.

Great season premiere especially with the cold open.

The disgustingness of the first Sam scene had me cracking up. Fuck that shit, man.

If we are to buy into the story being displayed in a linear fashion: Stannis died, Dany was taken away on Drogon's back, captured by the Dothraki horde, Vaes Dothrak was burned to the ground, Dany gained control of the Dothraki horde, the Sons of the Harpy revolted, Tyrion took control of Myreen, the slave masters were slaughtered, Euron gained control of the Iron Islands, Dany formed an alliance with the Greyjoys, sailed The Narrow Sea, and arrived at Dragon Stone.

I believe it is safe to say the time since Stannis' death has been substantial.

Can't wait to see Samwell turn that bunch of old cucks at the citadel into his bitches.

Also it's a testament to the quality of the show that I immediately knew that was Arya masquerading as Walder Frey and still enjoyed the shit out of the scene, and likewise with Euron Greyjoy storming off to find what will obviously be Dragonbinder.

Minor complaint: where's my badass shot of the dragons perching themselves atop Dragonstone? C'mon now.

Also fuck Ed Sheeran.

Thank God for Arya's plot line.

Interesting. I didn't think about the horn as the gift. I thought it would be the decimation of Dany's fleet, but that is an interesting perspective.

Arya has the worst timing and direction I have ever seen. Headed home? Joins with the Brotherhood; kidnapped by The Hound, headed North, sees family die. Her family retakes Winterfell, and she is at The Twins, heads South.

It could be that, but it doesn't make much sense plotwise. Dany's army has to reach the mainland for the story to progress, right?

Tactically, yes that would be the best options since they know where Dany is going to go. They just wait for the fleet to pull up sails and bunch together and then attack and send most of Dany's army into the sea. Hell, a couple fire ships would do a ton of damage alone.

They didn't mention to Euron so who knows?

Yes, no one is saying he will be successful in his goal. I do agree that it will have to be something substantial to make it appear to not be a fool's errand to the viewers, but it could be something as simple as giving her the heads of Ellaria Sand and the Sand Snakes (who are of no worth in this show, thus ending a terrible attempt of making Dorne relevant). She now has one less enemy, and no obstructions to her South should she attempt to flank Dany With Euron's fleet.

If it is Dragonbinder, we will begin to hear rumors of it from Sam, or Euron, next episode.

Guess nobody thought to fortify it...and because the plot dictates it to be abandoned.

IF anyone was there watching a thousand ships sail in, they left. Otherwise it was left abandoned. Either way, don't over think the plot.

Army on the land preventing escape, and the fleet blocking the exit from the Harbor. It would be tough to escape. Danny possesses the only severe advantage against any military unit (that we have seen to this point): the sky.

It was a good to great season opener. Less fluff between scenes, I loved it
