Chiefs and veteran free-agent defensive tackle Danny Shelton have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, per his agents @DrewJRosenhaus and @RyanMatha. Shelton was most recently with the Giants.

What gives you the idea he isn't making this team? The dude has never not made a team. In fact, he's been a significant contributor on every team he's been on. At one point the Pats traded a 3rd for him and 5th. Jesus fuck [Reply]

I mean - he was crap the last couple of seasons and was unsigned a week into camp. Then he signed for the vet minimum (presumably very little guaranteed).
I wouldn't go buying his jersey or anything here. If Saunders continues to play like he did last week, I don't think Shelton sticks. He'd have to bump Saunders or the Chiefs would have to carry 10 DL (and that's presuming the likely Kaindoh cut). It's possible, but by no means a given.
At that point it could come down to Harris as a 6th LBer and STs player or Shelton as a 10th DL.
Dude's pretty fungible and absolutely on the roster bubble. [Reply]
