Beautiful opening message! I can't believe they opened with a prayer. Love it.

Go USA!

Argentina should beat Canada. I hope they do.

:-) Than God we've got you around to explain the laws of soccer. :-)

That Panama game completely killed my interest in soccer for the rest of the summer.

Ya know, got a game Monday at Camarohead. It’s a fan warmup for the WC. If Team Berholter can’t catch the vibe from 78,000 out a fork in him, he’s done.

USA almost always loses games like the one they have to play on Monday.

Somehow the US will still have much better odds in Vegas to advance but you’ll continue acting like Canada has a chance against Chile for some reason. Saying they’re better than any team in this tournament was hilarious so that’s why I responded
And no surprise, Canada picks up the result they need against Chile and advance to the knockout. Marsch into the QFs of a major tournament in his first month on the job. How is Berhalter doing? :-)

:-) Imagine thinking success is playing 10 v 11 for 90+ minutes in group play and still giving up more shots on goal to both of those opponents. Definitely shows the difference in the level of expectations for the weaker CONCACAF teams without any historical relevance in the sport.

Canada badly outplayed and outchanced Belgium in the World Cup but lost the game and didn’t advance out of the group. Do you think anybody gave a **** about that fact after it was over?

Style points don’t matter in tournament soccer, results do. Not that you have a clue about just about that or just about anything else soccer-related given your commentary in this thread.

Canada ultimately got the results they needed to advance against two teams who you gave them no chance against. It’s a far shot better than losing to ****ing Panama. :-)

So apparently in Copa America:

This is the first time since 2004 that Chile have failed to go past the group stages

This is the first time since 1995 that Peru have failed to go past the group stages

All because #CanMNT spoiled the party pic.twitter.com/kTsfnpTbnO

But if they didn’t do it pretty enough with more shots, does it really count? :-)

I guess I missed the red card Canada picked up in that game to make your comparison seem relevant. I know you’re new to soccer being from up north, but red cards (especially controversial ones like the soft second yellow tonight) significantly affect the outcome of matches. You still got outplayed by Chile tonight when they were down a man for 2/3 of the match. That would embarrass most countries. Only in Canada would they celebrate that. Well, the few hundred of you up there actually paying attention at least.

Chile didn’t outplay Canada in that match but that is really besides the point. Canada knew they needed the draw to advance to the QFs and they got it. If that is an embarrassment in your eyes (against a team you said they had no chance against), what the hell does that make getting grouped by Panama at home? :-)

Does advancing out of the group in Copa even count if you only triple your opponent’s expected goal total in the match?

We had 7 corners in the first half when like 5 before the red and majority of possession once we ice we knew we needed only a draw we played not to lose , if we were better in the final third we would Luke have won that game easily , it got sloppy in the middle because we lost our cool because they were dicks .

The difference is some countries are punished for losing their cool like we were and some are not for some reason. It’s why the major discussion so far has been about the poor officiating and poor playing fields. Not sure how this wasn’t even a card, but a player tripping over himself during a shoulder to shoulder was somehow enough for a second yellow. If you were better in the final third you wouldn’t be able to say you were the first team in over 20 years to advance out of your group with only 1 goal (that came while playing up a man) That’s just who Canada is. It’s what comes when your only world class player is a fullback. He can only carry you so much.
