Every once in awhile someone somewhere will turn me onto a new band or group I hadnt heard of. Might be something older like Nat King Cole that you woldnt ever think you would like or something from your childhood that you just dont remember like Social Distortion that you have a new found respect for or a new band that you had to go find everything they had ever done.
Mine would be The Drowning Men, they were signed by Borstal Beat records after touring with Flogging Molly (BB is FMs label) the wife and I have seen them numerous times and its always a great show. http://www.thedrowningmen.com/
My personal favorite song is "Rita". Enjoy
Im hoping to find some more good groups from this thread! [Reply]
[QUOTE=patteeu;11546275]My daughter and I got to see The Damned at SXSW this year (both a new rockumentary and a live performance*) and whenever I tell people about it, no one seems to know who they are.
Big Damned fan over here. Listened to them quite a bit back high school. In my punk/Oi days. [Reply]

I've never heard Alabama Shakes on the radio, internet or otherwise. I only found them after seeing them on SNL. [Reply]
Not sure if Hayden made it S of the border but he did alright up here in the mid 90's and for a bit after that. This song totally takes me back to the old days. Normally, I listen to heavier music but now and again something like this will catch my ear and stick.
Not a band, but **** i can't stop listening to the awesomeness of this album. Listening to this makes me feel like i got zapped with a bolt of lightning and sent back into the 80's where i drive around in my Lambo Countach hitting up the clubs and distributing coke to all the fine bitches of Dade county.
Tomorrows Bad Seeds.... This band hails from Hermosa Beach Cali. Very cool blending of genres rock, alternative, punk, reggae, hip hop, and more. They've been around since 2004 and have 4 CDs out as well as a few singles.
Just showing their diversity. Here's some hip hop influence with live instruments
