With the 39th pick, the Carolina Panthers select Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
The Panthers added Reddick at OLB and Perryman at MLB this offseason, but Perryman hasn't played a full NFL schedule his entire career. He'll make a nice backup to Bolton who is a ferocious hitter with the speed to make plays all over the field. [Reply]
Rushing to submit their card immediately after the 49ers...
The Dallas Cowboys select Alim McNeill, DT, NC State
Last season, the Cowboys struggled to stop the run. New defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan’s 4-3 scheme should simplify things for the defense, but the Cowboys still have a big need for talent along the line. McNeill will come in and immediately bolster the unit as a talented 1-Tech who fits the scheme like a glove. McNeill is an above average run defender and very capable pass rusher from the inside.
Some other teams may be surprised by this pick. McNeill is a bit controversial in the fact that some teams and scouts have him ranked as high as an early 2nd round pick (including the Cowboys) while others have him rated as low as a mid-4th. The Cowboys don’t care, they got their guy. [Reply]

Probably should have been my pick for the Lions struggled between him and a few of these edge rushers before picking Perkins [Reply]

I struggled with that one mightily just because of the wide range of rankings applied to him. Some have him as the #2 DT, others have him as the #10/11. He passes my eyeball test and brings a pash rush skillet that no other DTs left on the board have.
Appreciate the affirmation that I'm not crazy and confirmation that he probably wouldn't have made it to the Cowboys next pick! [Reply]

Yeah DT is definitely a higher need for the Lions but you can never have too many pass rushers [Reply]
