2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Well, I was not watching every pitch so maybe. [Reply]
The Royals need to let Zack Greinke DH. He's always wanted to be a position player / hitter so he would be 100% down. He's a legitimately better hitter than I would guess 4-6 of the Royal regulars.
For his career, Zack Greinke has a .225/.262/.336 line, with a walk rate of 4.3% and a K-rate of 19.0%. That batting average is higher than Jackie Bradley Junior this season and about on par with Bobby Witt Junior. It's way better than Nicky Lopez. That K-rate is far better than MJ Melendez (25.8%) and the godawful Pratto (36.8%). Nate Eaton has put up a 52.0% K-rate for fucks sake! Greinke has pop too - he's hit 9 bombs in a bit less than a season's worth of PAs (600). Greinke has never gotten regular, every day ABs, and if he did, he could hit well better than his career marks.
In conclusion, Greinke is one of the 9 best hitters on the team and only Pasquantino is legitimately, demonstrably better. It's a waste to have him not hit when they have far worse hitters getting regular playing time. The fans would love it, Greinke would love it, attendance figures would love it. What's the risk? The Royals lose more games than they have been? [Reply]

Sure. That's why he wasn't fired immediately. I think this will blow over (and should) but Jesus Christ. As a broadcaster, not saying that specific word is basically priority number one. It is also weird he didn't immediately correct himself and apologize profusely. Did he somehow not realize he said it? How is that possible? [Reply]

I think the only way you accidentally use that word instead of Negro, is if you use it, have used it, and are comfortable using it. [Reply]

You're not a psychologist. Nobody can make this claim with 100% certainty that's the case. You're going to fire a guy based on something that can't be proven true?
What if Kuiper doesn't use the word, but it's in his brain from reading literature and watching cinema. [Reply]
