They have to carry more than 4 LB's...if you think O'Daniel isn't making it then Darius Harris likely does. 5 is thin 4 is bordering on extreme risk. [Reply]
In fact, Parks said that he’s been keeping a close eye on Mathieu for quite a while.
“I always watched his game — and quite frankly, he watched me play, too,” he said proudly. “So that’s exciting, having a guy like that say, ‘Yo, you can play football.’ We’ve been pretty much close ever since I came here through OTAs. I almost slept in his room two nights ago before curfew, too — so that’s just how much we’ve been bonding here. So I’m excited.”
So... “Patrick Mahomes effect”? Sure. The superstar quarterback is obviously part of the equation. But we’re also talking about an excellent staff led by one of the league’s premier coaches — and a team that’s largely been built with a consistent vision over eight seasons. To players like Parks, it might better be described as the “Kansas City Chiefs effect.” [Reply]

My thought was we play in sub packages so much that we could skate with 4 traditional LB's, especially since DoD is basically ST's only and sort of a bigger safety anyways. DoD is 6'1, 220, and Key is 6ft 208, Anderson is 6'2, 206. [Reply]
1. I’d probably keep Allegretti over Wylie. Ideally, neither sees the field.
2. Any chance of dropping Burton and keeping Fortson? Maybe Gray plays more H-Back
3. Sexy group of DTs
4. That OL depth looks great [Reply]

1. Yeah that was a toss-up for me. Allegretti does have experience at C, but I thought Wylie might have the (slightest) edge talent-wise. I could see us mutually parting with Blythe, should he want to start somewhere, and keeping Allegretti instead.
2. I don't know shit about Burton, but I thought with our change in philosophy along the OL and potential to run the ball more this year, the FB spot might have more value over TE-4. I do think Gray will come out of the backfield a bunch, though.
3 & 4: I think this is the best collective/combined group of talent in the trenches that I've ever seen as a Chiefs fan. [Reply]
I just don't think we're keeping 5 guards, especially since assuming Smith doesn't let go of the starting RG spot, none of them are developmental guys.
One of those vets is going bye bye. Possibly two of them if the Chiefs prefer to keep a player like Allegretti who can also play C.
Other than that, your guess is as good as anybody's. [Reply]

I think Veach goes crazy along the DL and in the secondary next offseason. Especially DE and CB. That dude makes every offseason exciting.
If Gray, Powell, CEH, and Hardman have big seasons or at least show promise, then the entire offense is practically set for another year. [Reply]

I'm not even sure it's worth it to carry a FB, they see so few snaps now, you're better off just having a backup TE take that role or a lineman. [Reply]
