Yea. I know that. I meant more in what’s his connection to Japan? I remember Kyrie Irving played for Team Australia one year because he was born there. [Reply]
Found a story about him. Pretty interesting. He’s originally from Texas. Was originally a baseball prospect. Even got drafted by the Royals. Is now a Japanese citizen

Happens all the time. In rugby the majority of the Japanese team were born in South Africa. [Reply]
When did skateboarding or surfing become more of a sport than weightlifting? Just because Americans are better at it, it gets more primetime coverage? Come on NBC. Don't be so nationalistic and yet whine about diversity all the time. I don't care if the best wrestlers or weightlifters are from other countries. Those are two of the oldest sports. Rather watch that over pothead sports. [Reply]

They have pushed a ton of what they perceive as ‘lesser’ sports off to their apps or sister networks like CNBC and USA.
NBC only cares about what gives them the highest ratings. Didn’t even show any of the women’s gymnastics live during the today show this morning. Holding it back until prime time tonight
I enjoyed watching fencing and ping pong over the weekend, but to watch it live I had to hunt it down on USA or NBCSN at midnight. [Reply]

Thats kind of the job isn't it? The mental pressure is inert to the sport is it not?
Everyone of those competing can do 99.9% of the moves. It's who can do it under the pressure of the moment. It's not a best of 7 playoff. You spent years training for this moment, who can perform under that pressure wins. Thats pretty much true for all the sports in the Olympics. [Reply]

I see people that seem just as good at a nearby local skate park.
I was excited to watch but it was completely boring...disappoint [Reply]
