MOCK OFFSEASON
I'm operating under the assumption that we win the SB. I'm going to max out all of our cap capabilities in order to keep the band together (likely unrealistic) and look to add some young playmakers.

DISCLAIMERS
This is not a very conservative approach, I watch zero college football, some of these guys probably go 1 rd up or down. I'm a die hard homer who's cap space optimism is apparent. This is just for fun. Do we really have this many draft picks?

This might be the year Veach finally tries to solve LT in the draft. If Amarius Mims slips a bit, he seems like the young, athletic freak he'd want to hand Andy.
I'm absolutely not zeroed in on WR as THE pick in round 1. I think a solid veteran plus another round 2 guy is likely unless he does sign a vet LT.
I might be wrong but I think Smith has played pretty much this whole year, and I'm not convinced Becton can play anywhere near his level. But yeah, no doubt a gamble. I'd just prefer the one I KNOW can play at an elite level. Only other option I can see is Trent Brown.
I don't love the approach, but I just can't see LT options and i don't think they pick an LT first given the need at WR, nor should they. I think it's a WR first and then maybe a trade up or 2nd round pick on whatever is the best developmental LT left. In that case I'd be amazed if we don't want an insurance policy, and that's really what I'd expect of a Smith or Becton. A kind of "please give us any many snaps as possible before you break and we put in the new guy. Fingers crossed he's ready".
I could possibly be talked into a LT R1, I just think the quality is well below the WR options at that point. The WRs are deep but I'd hate to miss out on one of the better ones.
