Growing up in NJ and the Jersey Shore in high school during the late 70's / early 80's, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were a huge part of my life.

I tried unsuccessfully for years to catch the band playing unannounced at local clubs based on rumors. One high school friend is a world famous music photographer who is friends with them and another friend hangs with both Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes as well as John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band at the Stone Pony.

Tonight I got to watch a 2 1/2 documentary on HBO all about Steve Van Zandt and was blown away.

Sometimes you just forget things about someone because they have done so much. As life takes it's course it is not easy to follow things like rock bands like we did in high school.

It was so amazing to see how much impact he had on the World far outside of music. Then you add in all the great music he made that I missed when he went solo and I got to learn so much.

I highly recommend and hope you appreciate his life and career even more. :-)
