I actually think it might just be fundamentals and he's now figured out that is what it is. The game is easy for him. He may think he's playing at a 100% level in game but in the back of his mind he's dicking around, playing with his food if you will. But, I was watching league highlights, and what I really noticed about Mahomes compared to the QBs who are currently playing great, is Mahomes seems to be trying to place the ball in spots, almost like Tua, aiming instead of throwing.

He was at his most elite throwing the football during the playoff run with a hurt ankle. Then, he was forced to stay within the pocket and his throws were lethal.
Mahomes unnecessarily drifts far back from the pocket, even when the protection is there. It puzzles me how Andy still allows him to do that. He needs to develop patience. This has been his main weakness throughout his career. Move away from the pocket only when you absolutely have to. [Reply]
