Im a bit into the second episode but so far I am thoroughly enjoying this show. The tone...even the cinematography is excellent considering the isolated situation of the ships. Also, it is well cast....especially in terms of the two captains....specifically Sir John.
Not sure how to describe it but the writers did a great job of making you feel the mounting hopelessness of the situation. Minus the sub zero temperatures, it's as if you're there.
It's early in the series but there's already been some creepiness that Im assuming is just the tip of the iceberg (pun intended).
Im probably in a minority here that like this series or that have even watched it yet. But so far, thumbs up! [Reply]
Whats going to throw me off, is that they seem to be making this a supernatural thriller where some 3x oversized polar bear, or other kind of monster is responsible for the two crews disappearance
When occams razor says their ships were crushed in the ice pack, and they all died out on the ice somewhere [Reply]

The series is adapted from a novel that used the real expedition as the basis for a monster horror story. So it's not theorizing that's what killed them. It's simply taking a historical event and using it as a backdrop. [Reply]

Ah, wasnt aware of that, I suppose thats fair enough... count me in [Reply]
So what is the swarthy little dude up to, the one who confronted the taller curly hair guy in his cabin... stepped from the room for s second, but were they talking about 'buggering' each other?
And if so, what angle could that possibly play?
I'm loving the dialogue and cinematography, but the crux of where its all going still somewhat eludes me [Reply]
Getting ready to leave the house, but I'll be checking that out soon BL... its actually a very well done show thus far, easily the most watchable thing going on monday nights
When this bear is finally revealed, it better be a real mother****er, though... [Reply]
