Nzoner's Game Room>-- CPer's Drive-Ins & Dives - share your local 'hole-in-the-wall'
Simply Red 01:08 PM 01-05-2011
Yeah, pls. share the menu of some restaurant choices (local 'to you') that are not really chains, but have great food. Novelty places are a plus - you may wanna post menu links and their physical business signs.

Food topics have always gone over well. I have several in mind, but i'll wait and join up, later.

TY

Kreem Kup in Manhattan. If anyone could get me some cheese fritters and FedEx them to me, I'd appreciate it.

I had heard that but didn't want to believe it. Trying to find a recipe for those fritters is tough.

Ate a cheeseburger and those cheese fritters once a week. Would save two and eat them the next morning. For sure had mayo in it. Probably Velveeta, but can't figure out the batter.

There is a burger place called Arkansas Burger Company in Little Rock that is awesome. Everytime I drive south we have to stop there and get the greek burger.
Yummm....Jumbo Spaghetti Red with fries FTW!

Years ago I used to go to a place down on Southwest Blvd. in KCK called Dagwoods. It was across the street from Strassers Hardware. It truly was a dive. But they had the best pork tenderloins they were huge. I am not even sure they are still there or if they are any good anymore.

Caspers, dude.

It's a winner, but now you've given me a ton of spots I need to try now. I hope a decent mexican place goes in at Glenstone and Sunshine. I don't get my hopes up too high, though.

Anton's on Glenstone has become my new fav for breakfast places.

I really liked that one in downtown St Joe with the hanging tree. Hopefully we go down there again next year.

I think 1106 is now closed. Mall Deli is my favorite in SEK, i guess it wouldn't be called a hole in the wall though. Marti's Deli had awesome hamburgers, but noboy knew about it.

Thought of a couple more:

Booches Billiard Hall in Columbia - great burgers, slightly bigger than sliders, served on wax paper - just don't ask for fries.

CJ's Wings in Columbia - best hot wings I've ever had - bar none. Service is sometimes shoddy, but the food is worth it.
