I got it from Wal-mart. I looked at Amazon and a number of other places. They didn't come close.
I have been wanting a laptop for a number of years. Notice I said "wanting" not "needing". I have tried my wifes tablet and don't care for it. It is too limited.
Here are the specs: Acer Aspire E15 E5-575-5157 for $400. Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5Ghz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 Ghz. Intel HD graphics 620, up to 3134 MB Dynamic Video Memory, 6 GB DDR4 Memory, 1 T GB HDD, 8x DVD, 3 USB (3.1-2.0) Ports, Serial Port, HDMI Port, Ether Net Port, wt 4.8 lbs, not sure (don't think so..tried touching it:-) ) Touch Screen, Windows 10, 15.6 inch screen, full Keyboard.
I think that is it.
Purpose: multi: business, surf, email, research, Netflix, might do some gaming (WOW...been a long time). Basically, do everything that I do on my office computer and home towers.
I just got back from a road trip to SC. I had my Mom's old Acer Laptop from 2004. It died. I normally do all my computer work on my office or home towers. The portability of this laptop is nice i.e. taking it to the garage to watch a YouTube video on a car repair etc.
I guess I should have bolded the cost. $400. It was on sale, not sure if available anymore. I used the Wal-mart web site, not the store. It was FedEx to me in 2 days.
I am in the process of draining the battery to "zero", in the theory batteries have a memory. Kind of sucks...on high performance, brightest screen, no sleeping, no shut off...takes 6 hours to kill the battery. Thus the battery time should be solid (was one of the highlights in reviews).
I am not sure what a 2 in 1 is. This is a straight up laptop. I can't take the screen off. As far as my research, I am no computer whiz, and after talking to my computer nerd, is a quality buy. My FedEx dude is going to try and get one. [Reply]
I mean... there are a whole bunch of different SpectreX360 so depends on the one you get.
I would rather give up all portability and use a desktop so I might be biased but that shit is way too high.
It's a needs thing. Do you need a touch screen 2 in 1? If not, you can get same or better speced laptop for less money, and im gonna be honest, mobile processors still suck ass for real life tasks. I guess if you are just opening up chrome and spotify and doing your thing.. sure.
I've bought my last 6 laptops at Best Buy. They always got the best deal when I decide on a model. I usually get high end laptops so I dont know if that history holds for those laptops in the $400 range.
