Nzoner's Game Room>So have we hit the Justin Herbert is overhyped mark yet?
Mecca 11:05 AM 11-23-2020
I get his numbers are good but I've got people on ESPN saying he'll be a top 3 QB by the end of next year...fansided saying he should be an MVP candidate right now when his team has 3 wins...

WTF is going on here?

He plays in LA, he will be overhyped for the next 10 years.

He's good, but it will be serious overkill for a long time.

He's legit, unfortunately. Really talented.

We'll see what happens when defenses adjust in season 2.

He's very good when he can hit his first read/region read.

He's been really good. I don't watch ESPN or read Fansided or really much of anything else so I don't know how hyped he is. If you're worried about hype, then ESPN probably isn't the place for you because that's all they are.

Yep.

He throws a nice deep ball but there's a lot to his game that needs work.

Apparently if he keeps pace he's gonna go 42/10 on TD INT, yea he's gonna get royally blown for the next 8 months now that I think about it.

Once you take away his first read and make him process the field, Herbert's footwork falls behind and his accuracy plummets.

Problem is LAC almost never has him do that.

Dude's a baller. Nothing to overhype. This division is back.

Some of the talking heads this AM on nfl network were debating if the Dolphins made a mistake drafting Tua ahead of him.

Yet his QBR is bad because he wilts in crunch time...he's a weird prospect to say the least, like at Oregon I never saw it.

I know it’s early, but I think they did.

I also think Herbert is being overrated just like almost every other QB that starts off on fire. He’ll come back down to earth in year 2, but he definitely looks like he belongs at the very least.

Top 3? No.

Talent is absolutely top 10 though, already.

The discussion earlier this year about Taylor starting over this kid is laughable now, as are any arguments that Tua was a better prospect.

You don't have to like it, but it's the truth. I expect Carr will come down from his cinderella season and Denver may be getting a new QB as early as this offseason.
