The lack of nationwide testing at this point is honestly outrageous. We need to know what we are dealing with and we are basically flying blind.

The virus is hitting Florida. It doesn't seem to care about warm temps.

It's also mutating, and the CDC is having trouble detecting it, as we have seen.

I'm afraid this is a super-virus. We are in the beginning stages of a global outbreak.

Invest in IBIO. They are our only hope.

There are times to be a dick, GoChiefs, jokingly or not. This isn't one of them.

Are you 60+ with a serious underlying health issue?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong - but I think it's not the warmth that is the issue, it's the dryness of air. Viruses tend to spread more in dry air, at least I've been told.

And it's also not the actual warm temperatures

Its the fact that people tend to be outside and more spread out in the warmth vs inside and packed in like sardines in the cold

It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

If the CDC does what they did in 2009, from this point forward, ALL Flu will be classified as COVID-19.

If that's the case, lets put down in writing, that last stats from "Regular Flu" as of Feb 22nd:

Key Updates for Week 8, ending February 22, 2020

CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 32 million flu illnesses, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 deaths from flu.

20 influenza-associated pediatric deaths occurring during the 2019-2020 season were reported this week. The total for the season is 125.

Back to your regularly scheduled hysteria.

There are lots of different strains of flu. Just like there's already lots of different strains of coronavirus. So, no.

I'd prefer doing away with the handshake as well but it's a necessary evil.
