I do think that is the driver they are using, but it does not make intuitive sense to me it terms of my understanding of the lockdown and "flattening the curve". My understanding is the peak is flatter but the period of time is longer as well. Given that Kansas and Missouri essentially were infected at the same time, you would think Kansas would take longer to be in the clear than Missouri.

I used to care but lately, I've just moved on to more important things because there's no use in fighting it or being upset.

This is way beyond Big Brother or anything anyone like HG Wells, Aldous Huxley and/or George Orwell could have predicted.
they are being generous that it happened in the last year.

Where the shift happened was the access to cheap big data, business intelligence and analytics. You just need a cheap licesense in the AWS/Azure clouds. Now more data points are being fed into software. I saw a system the other day that had 2000 data points mapped. Which means you can search for something that has those same 2000 characteristics.

This horse has left the barn. You can’t run, you can’t hide. You can’t even live off the grid in a cabin in the woods.

The good news is besides the intelligence branches, the government still has no clue on how to utilize this tech or the competent people to run the systems.

Agreed but it'd seriously be the only way people would listen as sad as it is.

Parsons was way too late, why would people suddenly change now because he declared it?

All the major metro areas around the state (well the majority of them at least) already had the order in place. Sure now the rest of the state has a strongly worded message to stay home, but is it really gonna matter?

He may have been late putting the order in place but I doubt it makes a significant difference one way or the other.
