More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.

Yeah, we had a really good pass rush last year. We also gave up the most third down conversions -over 400- in the HISTORY of the NFL for a single season. So...who cares? If the defense is better than 30th in the league this year, and we free up a bunch of money to be spent on players who can freakin stop a third and (fill in any distance) then we've improved. Time for Jones and Speaks or K-Pass to step up. And we'll see what they draft. Draft should be all defense and one running back. You can't polish a turd, and our defense last year was a giant turd.
