I guess we have a pretty good study to see how large gatherings will fare and if we can have football games this fall with fans.

Results should be in here in about 2/3 weeks.

Haven't you been paying attention.... These Riots are immune from the spread of coronavirus and are in no way going to have a negative impact!

/Hamas said so

They are "Different"

You can go fuck yourself too because you were telling any of us that wanted to live our lives under reasonable social distancing measures that we were pieces of shit, and now you’re silent about all of this too.

Every last one of you have gone completely silent. It’s proof that I was right all along that you had a political agenda. There’s no denying it at this point.

Really didn't want to start a new thread for this and since it's related to the covid-19 stuff i'll ask here.

Whats everyone's take on not putting in a two week notice for a job that furloughed you for 8 weeks? I have worked on and off total so far of 6 weeks furlough served with 2 more weeks to go. I interviewed and got a new job that wants me to start this week. Kansas unemployment process has been rough for me and am still owed money, from the state and I'm not a fan of collecting it in the first place and ready to get back to normal.

Personally I feel like I don't owe them shit I got no advance notice of a furlough because it is a business decision, but because I feel like that's the standard I should maybe still do it.

Thoughts?

I expect that all of these employers that indefinitely furloughed people are expecting many of their employees to find jobs elsewhere.
Thoughts?
Take the new job and just go ahead and tell them now. A week’s notice is better than none. I think most of the businesses that indefinitely furloughed their employees are expecting many of them to find jobs elsewhere in the interim.

Uh you know we aren't supposed to be talking about that shit in here right?

But look if you want to be real about it, what they're doing will almost assuredly lead to a massive spike in numbers. No one that brought up ever said that it wouldn't. The absolute spin here that "oh look you all don't care about covid now" is a fucking 3rd grade argument.

Hamas said that protesting a dude getting killed by a cop is a better cause than people getting haircuts, unless you are completely dense that's a reasonable thing to say. But at the same time both of those things will cause numbers to increase in this climate.

I don't think that means you are supporting one over the other, they have the same effect an increase in numbers of the virus.

Fact, its crazy to watch their righteous indignation of people going out into the world go missing.

"You don't care about grandma or grandpa"

Riots

"Well I mean they are angry"

Find one post of mine where I said that was perfectly fine....that's a pretty wicked strawman you're building though.

From a public health stance any mass gathering right now is not smart, from a common sense stance there can be a difference in the reasoning behind them.

protest injustice vs pool party , doesn't mean you have an agenda.

Agree, thing is my new job wants me to start asap. They are actually not hurting at all since they develop software for e-learning. I'm leaning towards just taking the job and telling them that the furlough has put financial stress on me and my family and I have an employer that is wiling to pay me full time and wants me to start now so sorry about it.

I should mention I don't have anything to hand off as I we never started anything this year due to all the craziness. I just don't see the point in a two week notice and obviously they need to save the money anyway. But for some reason something nags at me about it. I Think its just the company will find a way to spin it like I am an asshole for not putting in a notice and I do like some of my co workers.

:-)

Me getting a haircut in a barbershop with less than 10 people (following reasonable social distancing measures) is the same as rioting with hundreds with some masks? Who in this thread said anything about gathering in large groups? Our desires were all pretty fucking reasonable and you’re trying to compare it to this shit?

JFC you couldn’t be any more obvious in your bias. All of you.
