Media Center>Harry Solomon is the greatest comedic character ever. Change my mind.
Rain Man 10:48 PM 09-01-2020
Third Rock from the Sun is available in my On Demand stuff now, and I forgot how good that show was. All of the actors really nail their parts, and a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt is top notch, but French Stewart as Harry Solomon constantly steals the show. Everything he says and does in that series is hilarious.

If you don't remember Third Rock, it was on in the late 90s and you owe it to yourself to watch.

There aren't a ton of clips of Harry on youtube because a lot of his stuff happens quick, but here's an example starting at about 40 seconds. What the heck is that?

Here's a bit longer scene. It takes a couple of minutes to set it up, but it's worth it.

These are far from the best Harry Solomon scenes, but they'll give you a taste. I'm not sure that any character has ever given me as many guffaws per minute.

Watch it. Just watch it. Get the entire series and tackle it from start to end.

Yeah. That show brought it. Back when you had to or it was insta-cancel.

Apparently that show had 13 different time slots in 6 seasons. I remember them always moving it, which made it hard to succeed.

I haven't seen the show in reruns since it left. I was a little worried that it wouldn't age well when I started re-watching it. There are a few things that didn't age well (Jane Curtain overacts), but overall it's a nonstop laughfest.

I didn't think he was even the funniest character on that show. John Lithgow made me laugh the most.

Lithgow was good, but Harry was just so bizarre. In a show of bizarre aliens, he stood out to me.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great as well. I usually despise child actors, but he was a big asset to the show.

When I saw the thread title, I had no idea who Harry Solomon was, but I wondered how he beat out John Lithgow because I knew you liked 3rd Rock from the Sun. Now I understand.

Dick wins. John Lithgow can pull off this role AND Arthur Mitchell in Dexter AND Earl Talbot Blake in Ricochet. Case won by Pasta...

If animated characters are eligible , I'd go with Randy Marsh on South Park. Holy crap is he hilarious. Love Trey Parker's voice work there
