This really looks like the MO side of things is spiking. In the overall KC area the hospitalizations to cases rate is actually just under where it was a month ago. But the MO side is spiking in hospitalizations. The irony is the KS side is seeing the rise in cases more so than MO.

Beds in general are still at 35% availability but ICU beds are down to 17%.

What’s the issue with hospitalizations? Is it mostly pre existing condition patients? A lot of obese people?

Idk. Our hospital won't give any data on hospitalized patients.

No one knows because it is being hidden from the public for some reason.

Wonder why they’re keeping the information.

We’re all healed up at the PD for now. We had around 10 last month. Just a couple actually got sick and they were our obese officers. One was hospitalized for a couple weeks.

I wish people would get out and exercise. Help your lungs and immune system. What’s your guys’ opinion on that?

Is it irrational for me to be concerned that someone I may know won't be able to get medical care because the hospital is too full?

A bit. It's not totally unfounded, but things will most likely be ok.

We already seeing in the US though curfews implemented and soon restaurants\bars will be closed in the hard hit areas.

Just look at what is happening in South Texas.
Indoor bars just cannot work when it's raging around you. No social distancing, prolonged contact, decreased inhibitions.

They dont release the information because they are Mexican and people don't want to know how much they are costing the public

We've heard this the entire time. Which all that does is make the fatality rate a lot less than what it is.
