I don't know why you keep downplaying Texas. They have doubled hospitalizations in the last two weeks and their percentage of positive tests has shot up. They aren't the only state having issues but they are heading completely in the wrong direction badly.

If you're curious why, read the comments on this tweet

Wearing a face covering in public is proven to be one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of #COVID19 while continuing to keep Texas businesses open.

Texans should wear a face covering for the health of their families, friends, and for all fellow Texans. pic.twitter.com/5oWVfZMsph

WTF is going on with the nursing homes?
It spreads asymptomatic among healthy non social distancing, non mask wearing young adults until a nursing home worker eventually infects a nursing home?

:-)

Hasn't CA had some of the most strict lockdown and mask wearing laws?

They don’t feel safe leaving home without a gun but a mask which protects against a virus with a higher risk of death than than gun violence is out of the question .

Throughout this quarantine I've been able to run on the streets if not the canyons. From my limited sample size I'd say this entire time the masks I've seen have been no more than 60% of people. The second restaurants opened up they were full of people without masks on.

It's not just Texans that are refusing to wear masks. I think Americans just don't like to be told what to do, even if it keeps them alive.

See: seatbelts when that became a law.

Yeah or we keep allowing Covid patients to be put back into nursing homes like we've seen all over the country but whatever

I am not downplaying Texas. I am just not ignoring CA as they climb up the ladder without hardly a word said about them.

So the question is why do you keep downplaying CA? See how that works?

Texas had 7.5k new cases today
CA had 9.5k and about 50 more deaths than TX

As far as hospitalizations go it appears CA is worse off than TX as well. At least according to Worldometers.

LA tonight after the Mayor supposedly locked it down for the weekend including bars, restaurants and supposedly visiting family. I am sure this isn't spreading the Rona at all....
