Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I mean, I wouldn't hate it.

It's not ideal, but it wouldn't be the worst thing.

I think I can trust Andy to scheme and develop WR's and skill guys. OL not as much.

Like getting the Badger. That allows so much more flexibility in the draft.

Of course a trade would also drastically change things

The defense needs an attitude, and an actual dominance. A nice mixture of veteran leadership to go with a good group of rookies could go a long way
Houston and Matthews? That would literally go against everything that Veach has done. And why would you want $7 million of dead cap on the books for Houston....only to give him more money?

If Ferrell falls to 20 I can see Veach trading up for him. Arrowhead Pride mentioned our 2019 3rd and 2020 2nd from Ford to get that done

Id be fine with Bradbury at 29. NOTHING more important than protecting 15.

I hadn't but looks like it's available now. Seems to be a 1 year deal for $7 million or a 2 year deal for $12 million. A little more bonus than I expected but I'd definitely do that for Ansah.

I just don't see any way he takes that deal unless he's still looking for a job when camps start.

He's probably a few weeks away from taking 1/$8 million if offered, but I don't think he's been driven down to that kind of multi-year obligation yet. If it took about 20% more than that in the first 2 seasons I'd be on board.

I doubt they'll go there.

It's weird they don't seem to be looking for a WDE. Maybe they've got their eyes on one in the draft? Just seems weird.
This is a stacked draft for the DL. Veach has mentioned it a couple times.

I don’t see them cutting a deal for anybody till possibly after the draft.

With his age and injury history, Ansah isn't going to get paid what he's wanting. His asking price will eventually come down. If it doesn't, let him go play somewhere else.

Per the NFLPA the #Chiefs salary cap space stands at $23,327,534 this includes the Okafor signing but likely doesn’t include Breeland’s signing yesterday since he is not in the database yet.

Seems pretty obvious they’re trying to make a big move. You’d have to think it’s through trade, but I just can’t think of who it would realistically be.

Chiefs either have a big move coming or just extend Jones

It would be beneficial to wait those types of things out, but I hate adding guys late.

I feel like the best teams usually have their guys at OTA's, Camp etc.

It is what it is though.
