Nzoner's Game Room>Adobe Flash Player will end on 12/31/2020
Msmith 06:37 AM 11-26-2020
"Adobe will end support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020. Here's what you can expect in the meantime for each Microsoft browser:

In the next version of Microsoft Edge (built on Chromium), Flash will be disabled by default. However, users may re-enable it on a site-by-site basis. The timeline for Chromium-based browsers can be found here.

Flash will not be disabled by default from Microsoft Edge (built on EdgeHTML) or Internet Explorer 11 prior to its removal by December of 2020.

Flash will be completely removed from all browsers by December 31, 2020, via Windows Update. Group policies are available for enterprise admins and IT pros to change the Flash behavior prior to that date.

Companies reliant on Flash for development and playback of content are encouraged to remove the dependency on Adobe Flash prior to December 2020."

What happens to all the software that require Flash to run?

THey are useless unless you use a browser that allows flash.

Puffin does-but it costs.

There are still a lot of sites-like education sites that need flash. They will be worthless.
Apple users have been dealing with this forever since it blocked Flash years ago.

I can't remember the last time I had a flash update. Maybe over a year. If I go ahead and uninstall it would that be a problem? I use firefox.

No it is not. Good sites have gone to HTML 5 and have security certificates. Everyone has been warned for many years this was happening.

Many of us that used flash on weather sites have moved to something else to display live data. Two people stepped up and created HTML 5 platforms to work with software that many use.

Yeah, I know you can find weather data anywhere. But WU is a disaster and may be dead in a year. IBM has destroyed what used to be a great site.

Someone made one to mimic the Old Weather Channel. I put mine together.

I haven't used Flash in probably 4 or 5 years. The only place that still uses it really is the National Weather Service and they're moving to HTML 5 now.

Here is one web developer said,

"There are thousands systems which requires flash in browser for management purpose and these systems can not and will not be upgraded or replaced. So we NEED flash in browsers for the next 10 years, at least, If MS or CHROME or FF will drop it then we will keep Windows XP and Windows 7 and FF with upgrades blocked and run it anyway..."

I do some work with Denver International Airport. When they first rolled out their new badging system a year ago, they had a system requirement to use Internet Explorer 6. And yes, I'm serious.

It seems to work fine in Chrome, and eventually I think they officially said that Chrome is supported, but...really? :-)
