I didn't realize Mathieu is only 28 thought he was older for some reason but his contract ends when hes 30 Fisher 31. I'm assuming both will want big paydays. Dont know about paying guys on the wrong side of 30 who've been in the league for 10 years. [Reply]

The first quote is why I was asking.
And if he is playing, does that automatically mean he is on the 53 man roster if he is a COVID replacement? [Reply]
Hopefully we at least get one chance to see how he does with us. If he can't even beat out guys like Bopete and Hamilton for playing time today he ain't got a chance. [Reply]

Yeah he spent YEARS of his career trying to find a good fit. He’s not going to walk just because we need to restructure his deal to make it work for the team. [Reply]

Especially when the deal he gets is fair market value, and the salary he was slated
to make in 2021 gets converted to a signing bonus. [Reply]

He’s currently one of the (if not the) highest AAV safeties in the game. He could get a new contract still in that range and lower the upfront cap hit. He’s not going anywhere. [Reply]

Or, the Chiefs know what they have in Baker but want to get extended looks for Bopete, whom they traded back into the 2020 draft to snag and maybe a longer look at Hamilton, although it's difficult to see him as anything more than a special teams guy. [Reply]
