Media Center>Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the best sequel better than the first

Change my mind.

What others movie sequels is better than the first?

I thought Temple was the worst of the original three.

Aliens, T2, The Dark Knight, Empire Strikes Back are a few sequels that are better than their predecessor. Maybe LOTR: The Two Towers.

The Dark Knight is better than Batman Begins. One I forgot.

Perhaps a better question is whether the final film in a trilogy has ever exceeded the first two...

Maybe Return of the King, although Fellowship of the Ring has always been my favorite (on screen or in print).

I can't think of anything else. Maybe Skyfall if you consider the latest set of Bond films as its own thing, coming after Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

This is a bad take. Temple of Doom isn't anywhere close to as good as Raiders.

Also, Star Trek 2 (Wrath of Khan) is one that hasn't been mentioned.

Raiders is the better overall film. A perfect film really.

But Temple is a ton of fun. I’ve always liked it. The last 45 minutes are A pure action masterpiece. Spielberg at the top of his game.

I like that’s it’s a low key prequel too.

Aliens could be argued is a better film than Alien.

But I’d put them as equals

Empire Strikes Back is better than A New Hope.

Then there's Godfather and Godfather 2. Not sure I'd say one is better than the other.

I agree with this gentleman.

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly would fit the bill if you look at them as a trilogy.

Fury Road is better than any of the Mad Max's (and Road Warrior is better than Mad Max) but it ain't a trilogy either.

Cameron's Aliens and T2

Coppola's Godfather 2

Evil Dead and Army of Darkness

Rooster Cogburn brings back our favorite 1-eyed lawman but replaces god-awful Kim Darby from True Grit with Katharine Hepburn. We also got a GREAT villain in Hawk, played by Richard Jordan (who played Jeffrey Pelt in 'The Hunt for Red October')

Apex Duke...

I had no idea this existed. I'm going to have to track it down.

No way, 3 is much better than 2. Though I must say my enjoyment of 2 has increased with a couple watchings, but it is no where near as good as 1.

Seems like the even numbered movies in the Star Trek flicks as the best ones, at least for TOS.
