From the NFL’s standpoint, the Antonio Brown investigation will continue. A player has to be on a team to be placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list. So that is no longer in play unless he signs.
If Antonio Brown does not wind up receiving his $9M signing bonus from the Patriots (the first $5M was due to be paid on Monday), he will go from a $30M guarantee in March to $9M guaranteed to just $158,333 made for 2019.
Nobody is picking him up. He would immediately go to the exempt list.
This has nothing to do with the Pats wanting to do the right thing. They just didn't want to pay him to sit at home. They're still fraud pieces of shit. [Reply]
