Just got a call from a Kansas official. Their statement has been misinterpreted. Kansas has NOT pulled out of NCAA Tournament. Key word: Cancelled travel, events "indefinitely." https://t.co/F3TpJVcpRx

Where does a second title place Self among his contemporaries?
Probably still ranks him behind Wooden, K, Rupp, Knight, and Roy all time.
Springboards him way ahead of Donovan, Wright, Iba, Calipari, etc.
Given his regular season dominance and 2 national titles, he’s probably the best coach with 2 national titles and better than Jim Calhoun (who has 3).
I would also say it also makes Self the best coach in school history. Phog was great, but it’s much harder in this era. Phog also coached at Kansas for like 40 years. Self has been here for 16. [Reply]
Doke is going to be the answer to a lot of trivia questions someday.
Who is the only 4 year starter at a major university to go to the Final Four in 100% of his tournament appearances, never win a game in the Final Four, win a National Championship, and never play in a conference tournament? [Reply]

You will never ever convince me that Roy is a superior coach. Roy was here for 15 years and never got it done. Self did. Self has been more consistently better. Even more consistently better than Roy at UNC. There isn’t a better comparison than consecutive coaches at a school. [Reply]
