Okay, I've been silent on the topic since Sutton had some good defenses earlier, but I'm done. He's got to go. It's not even about the overall defense. The guy can't protect a lead. We've blown leads - and big leads - in every important game we've had during his tenure. He cannot hold a lead, and must go.
And if it's talent, then a bunch of scouts need to go, too. Under the Reid tenure with six drafts we've spent the following draft picks on defense.

Sutton and Andy are already at the buffet and thinking about how nice it's going to be to sleep in 2moro, they know Bob's safe. Andy will fall on his rubber sword and remind people that the offense and special teams put the defense in a bad spot. Bob stays employed, Andy has a DC who rolls over and lets him keep building his offense.

Hitchens went from good to atrocious in one season. A new DC can evaluate the current state of the defense with a fresh perspective, maybe Sutton's trash is another's treasure. [Reply]
