It's becoming more and more incomprehensible that they benched him against the Titans. He's exactly the kind of player who could have helped to contain Henry. [Reply]

Listening to Spags ridiculous explanation, he clearly just over thought it... too smart by half
We can only hope the lesson was learned... if it’s working, don’t fuck with it [Reply]

Not only that, they benched him for a player (Ivie) they cut the following week.
Now...how does a team, 10 weeks into a season, not already know what they have in Ivie? He was obviously a bubble player.
Reid threw this game...did his masters a solid. Made Spags look like a blabbering idiot trying to explain it...he's a good soldier. [Reply]
Just too much cap relief and draft capital to be gained from moving on as opposed to extending him.
The one thing he does at an elite level (and what will get him paid) is rushing the passer between the guards. But he can’t hold a double effectively against the run and now almost has to be played at DE in order to not be a liability in those instances.
That’s not a guy I’m super comfortable paying $19-20M + per year. And if his body starts breaking down? Shit....
I’d keep the other 3 you mentioned and try to find another body of two who can rush on the inside on those 3rd and longs, even if it’s a DE. [Reply]
