You said "China is shut down". That is 100% false.
How would you define it?

So just say you were speaking figuratively instead of arguing ....

Accurately?!?! As is parts of China were almost if not literally shut down. Not China is shut down.

One statement is accurate. One is not.

They severely restricted travel. They shut down their main manufacturing hubs. Their legislature shut down.

That's about as shut down as a country can get.

Did they close the fast food places or can they still get a bat burger and puppy fries?

No, Donger. Once again you have to be reminded that words mean things.

Balut is about a 3 on the squick scale, relatively. . . . It's even fairly well reviewed by even Western palates. Not that I've tried it, but when you compare to rotten shark in the North Atlantic, or seal fat ice cream with the Inuit, or tarantulas or . . . or, or, or.

I mean, it's ostensibly sterile still inside the shell. And most everyone eats TONS of egg and TONS of chicken. This is just 'in-between' egg and chicken.

I've never tried it, but it seems like it's eaten more out of enjoyment than desperation, and it kind of makes sense.

Eating them in NYC

Oh my hell baby mice and bird fetus. I just canít even.

Bright side though, looks like corona is good for the environment.

Over China, coronavirus coincides with plummet in nitrogen dioxide

The coronavirus is coinciding with "significant decreases" in nitrogen dioxide over China, according to NASA, as authorities there continue to place more people under quarantines and some businesses remain closed amid the outbreak.

Pollution monitoring satellites operated by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) detected the decreases over a two-month span, according to a news release. The drops coincided with the outbreak and the Lunar New Year, which was unusually tame because many decided to stay indoors rather than risk becoming infected. ....

I'm not advocating for a balut revolution, just differentiating it from the TRULY disgusting and unsanitary. It's disgusting to look at, and conceptually. But in terms of tastes and sanitary conditions we're used to in the west, it's hard to get overly upset over something still fresh inside an eggshell direct from the chicken's ass.

Compared to rats and bats and spiders and monkeys and scorpions and cockroaches? . . . Yeah
