I mean, obviously people on vents are in the most serious stages of the disease, and I have no intuitino for how often people come off vents in other diseases, but 80% mortality is pretty disheartening anyway

80% rate is that of those who died they tried vents on or were on when died. Which your back to that is only given to those have serious time breathing. It is not that of all given vents that 80% died.
