Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun!
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.
It was pretty damn amazing, and I would say the main story is back on track big time.
Also, Bryce Dallas Howard directed this one and I though did a fantastic job. The episode was tight, the action was awesome---the whole episode was on point and it is one of the best of the entire series. [Reply]
The guy is such an excellent actor and he was perfect for that scene. So now, we've seen two actors from Deadwood in The Mandalorian, Welliver and Olyphant, which is pretty cool. [Reply]
Totally blindsided by the Katee Sackhoff appearance. Never realized she voiced the same character in Rebels, either.

Seriously, I about lost it when she took her helmet off an said "I'm Bo-Katan". That was a serious nerd-gasm for me, something I really haven't experienced with Disney Star Wars to date.
Then, I almost lost it again when she later said "Take the Founding to the city of Calodan on the forest planet of Corvus. There you will find Ahsoka Tano. Tell her you were sent by Bo-Katan."

I wonder if we'll find out the fate of Sabine, Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn?
What if Thrawn escaped and it's later revealed that Moff Gideon is actually working for Thrawn? What if Gideon's mission is to capture Baby Yoda, deliver him to Thrawn, who plans to use his Force powers to resurrect the Empire?

I thought it was interesting how he killed the pilots before attempting crash the ship. Implying that not all imperials are loyal to the death.

I didn't find that to be surprising at all.
The clones were created and programmed to defend the Republic and destroy the Jedi. They had no other mission.
The First Order stormtroopers were taken from their parents as children and "programmed" to serve the First Order with their lives - they knew no other way of life.
The stormtroopers in the OT joined The Imperial Academy, not knowing that they were serving an evil Sith Lord. Luke's best friend joined, Luke had planned to join and Han Solo served for 3 years in the Imperial army but none of them dedicated their lives to the Empire. Joining was a way to escape their miserable existences.
Plus, we saw the reaction of the Imperial pilots once Welliver's Captain ordered the ship to ascend. They weren't onboard with that decision so he killed them.

It appears that this may be a running gag throughout this season and now, I actually think it's a pretty funny.
I have to admit, as horrifying as it was to see him eat those eggs last week, the humor of the situation has mostly pushed that aside after seeing Chapter 11, especially knowing that at least one of their progeny survived. [Reply]
They did a nice job of pulling off the prosthetics + CGI on those actors playing Quarren...meanwhile there was something "off" about the Mon Cal headpieces. The eyes looked cheap. [Reply]
No way baby yoda is eating the eggs because they are delicious.
When he got near them, the eggs moved towards him. They have toys coming out for Christmas of the eggs and Baby yoda. Disney ain’t making a toy out of Baby yoda’s dinner.
Off the top of my head it seems like Baby Yoda has a real preference for eating living things, especially if they are moving around at least a little bit. Sort of like a cat. Makes me wonder if he is subsisting on not just the living tissue but the force present in all living things. I don't know. Just throwing it out there. [Reply]
