Well I would think not in normal times.

There's nothing about this that's normal.

Wait, so you are hoping for people to start shooting at each other over this? Why on Earth would you want that?

You know a bunch of other countries basically suspended rent and utilities during lockdown that simple measure would you know prevent that.

And let me get this straight you think our politicians can get anything done? Putting your faith in Congress seems a little foolish. And what about mortgage payments? And what are you going to do when the banks dont get their payments for loans?

People out there in California are basically going to ignore it. I don’t see major civil unrest. They are going to continue wondering why Wal-mart is safe but beaches aren’t. That and they will see other places doing fine and the restrictions will just have to be lifted.

Sure hope thats how it play outs, but anyone who thinks the government can force people into poverty to "protect" them have to be extremely naive to think there wouldnt be civil unrest.

People going to beaches won't eliminate civil unrest. Massive poverty would be the cause, not boredom.

Not to diminish the magnitude of the economic concerns, but at least so far, calling it "economic collapse" is a bit alarmist. Unemployment isn't looking good, but people are being propped up by the feds. Actual GDP is slipping, but it's on the scale of 10-20%. It's not like 90% of the economy is shut down right now.

So in short, we obviously need to get things running as soon as we possibly can, but these visions of riots in the streets seem pretty far off to me.
