And you can't judge these moves in a vacuum. Losing Ford for scraps cannot be spun positively ... trading him and then giving some stud a $15m/year deal = big difference. Hence the dumb timing. [Reply]

Mahomes will get $30 million next year and that money has to come from somewhere. From a pure $$$ stand point it makes sense to fill CB and pass rusher in the draft.
The argument is "how do we know who we draft will work out?"

I'm a huge Houston fan but he was honestly going to be overpaid if we kept him. I'm not a huge Ford fan but he was going to be overpaid if we kept him.

Exactly.
Both Hill and Mahomes will be THE highest paid players at their positions when they get new contracts. It only makes sense to sign them early and save money instead of getting one or two extra cheap years and then paying out the ass (like Dorsey did) when you finally have to resign them.

I disagree. We are set on offense. Ford and Houston had their moments but they are not everything. Pash rush is not everything. We ranked last in damn near everything. Coaching staff is bad ass now. We got better. [Reply]
