Nzoner's Game Room>So Robinson
Redbled 12:59 PM 11-23-2020
If Robinson doesn’t Robinson how much do we win by?

He singlehandedly killed one drive by running backwards and grabbing a face mask and took away 7 on another by not running the correct route late in the half.

Then he tries to be a hero not fair catching a punt and runs backwards again giving us an opportunity to hold someone and start deep in our own end.

If not for the late catch to extend a drive we may have been better off playing 10 on 11.

We may win by 18 if Watkins wasn’t being Watkins.

Hill and Kelce do make up for it, usually big.

Robinson has like 2 good games a year. That doesn't make up for it.

At least Pringle is starting to get more time. He isn't such a bonehead. He knows his limits and plays within them. He can also block which is Robinson's best aspect.

Please no.

We need to stop bringing all these shithead JAGs back and go out and try to get some guys who have potential.

Robinson
Dieter
Watkins(injuries)
Tedric Thompson
Darwin Thompson
Dorian O'Daniel
Daniel Sorensen
Ben Niemann
Alex Okafor(injuries)
Austin Reiter
Bryan Witzmann
Ricky Seals-Jones
Tanoh Kpassagnon
Nick Keizer
Deon Yelder

All those guys can hit the road. All JAGS that we need to upgrade with guys that MIGHT actually positively impact the game consistently.

I know, some people love Sorenson. But imo he has always brought as much negative as positive. He's a liability in coverage. The only position he should play is "centerfield" where he can use is solid speed to intercept the ball and come up to help with tackles.

He is what he is, an above average #4

He's been here long enough to know that his ceiling isn't going any higher, and yeah I'd love to see him upgraded at some point soon... but for now he's fine, seems doubtful any team in the league has a better #4 than him

need watkins and Hardman back.

Drob needs to focus on catching and being the 4th target

I'll step up and eat crow. I thought he would be much better.

He is strong, has the ability to make great plays but he constantly disappoints you.

He is the Demetrius Harris of wide receivers.

Pringle should be getting more snaps.

Nope. Watch the slo-mo replay. Kelce is never looking for a pass; he doesn't look anywhere but at the defender until after he passes DRob, then he stops and turns around to see the end of DRob's RAC.

Andy's been designing these types of plays for awhile now. And either Kohlmann or Krueger picked up on it last season and did videos analyses on them after the Vikings game.

However, he does come up pretty big, and has as long as he's been here with Mahomes. Just check any Mahomes highlight reel on YT; DRob is all over those things. Probably why Mahomes likes him.

And that play Redbled is referencing; Kelce was running a kind of rub/pick route for DRob there, which is why they were as close to each other as they were. Last season we saw Sammy running a lot of these kinds of 'over' routes for Kelce.

And I don't fault him for reaching out with the football; he's been doing it as long as I can remember, and I've never seen him turn the ball over doing it. He's simply trying to help the team. And pretty much every veteran receiver/RB/ QB tries to reach out for extra yardage, so I really don't see the problem. Some people just need something to bitch about I guess.

It's the same thing with going backwards. If that was a problem Andy or coach Lewis would've addressed it along time ago. Obviously they're letting the players try to make something happen because that's the overall philosophy of the team. Heck, we've heard Patrick say it often enough in those pre-game speeches, "Make a play! Play fast! Play aggressive! Make a difference! Dominate!"

That's the mantra of this team.

We've seen Hill, Kelce, Watkins, Hardman, Hunt when he was here, Damien, every offensive skill player on the team do these things time and time again. If we're going to roast DRob over an open fire for trying to stretch for an extra yard or try to make a move and gain a couple extra yards, then at least let's be consistent and burn everyone else for it as well.

Or, we can accept the fact that this team encourages each other to try and go the extra mile or inch, or reach, all in the effort to make a difference and win a game.
Solid take. The only thing I’d disagree with is Drob was reaching the ball out towards the sideline. I don’t believe he was gaining any yardage.

I think they could make a legitimate exception for Hill because of his speed. We have seen him make it work way too often for big plays to tell him to stop.

Yeah, I think he lost his spatial awareness and thought he was reaching upfield when he wasn't.

The only other reason I can think of is that he reached for the sideline so that if he did lose control of the ball, it would be out of bounds and still Chiefs' ball.

Either way, I really can't fault him for trying to reach for yardage, when he was probably taught to do it by his coaches and teammates. But he could learn to be more intelligent about when he does it for sure.

I'll take your word for it. I haven't had a chance to watch the game again. That makes the throw even more impressive because he led Robinson with a lot of defenders around. Mahomes is so good.

Yeah, Mahomes is a god with his anticipation. Of course, the play design helps a lot, because by having Kelce run just over the top of DRob's route, the defenders have to not only avoid running into each other, but they also have to make a choice, and their instincts are usually to take Kelce/the most dangerous receiver. Whatever. It creates a tiny moment of hesitation from the guy that's supposed to have the under route right at the merge point between the receivers, which is all Mahomes needs.

So I just now finally saw the replay of that INT. Robinson screwed up. It's pretty obvious from the reverse angle that he was running a simple hitch/comeback, and he should've driven back straight at Patrick, but for some reason he slide to his right, basically causing the INT. I'm gonna guess that it's these kinds of mental mistakes that some analysts were talking about last season.
