It's 2021, 2/3 of the country thinks our Marijuana laws are horse shit, and we still have athletes ruined over an absurdly outdated law. I just hope this brings even more attention to the absurdity of it all and gets us to legalization faster. [Reply]

Yes but how do you prefer your steak cooked? [Reply]
Since this is now the Olympics thread - Haglund's deformity mention on two of the marathon contenders for the Olympic team. They said it's a very difficult surgery to come back from. Did EB even ever get surgery? [Reply]

Sure, but it's not legal yet and athletes know the rules going in. I will never understand why they just can't stay clear rather than risk blowing their chance. Outdated law or not, it's still the law and the responsibility is on the athlete not to break the law. [Reply]

Just to make sure it's not misapprehended, this isn't about legality, but the Olympic Committee standards.
If the Olympics said you would be suspended if they find traces of apple pie in your system, . . . that's their rules. If you disagree with the wisdom of that, you can take it up with them or decline to consume their entertainment product. [Reply]
Talked to a female coworker who is a world class freestyle wrestler about this issue. She's too young to participate in these Olympics but should be in the 2024 group. She said "you know the fucking rules. There's other ways to alleviate stress/anxiety than lighting up a blunt." She'd said she'd never do something that stupid intentionally and waste all the years she has spent training and wrestling. [Reply]

Yes. Main point is still the same. Just don't break the rules and you're good. [Reply]

I had a chance to randomly hang out with the two one afternoon. She is really really nice. A little bit quiet. I have a feeling he's found a good one. [Reply]
